THE BRIEF
An Appetizing Life started as a live cooking show concept: a weekly livestream built around making great food accessible and fun for the home cook. The show had a vision and a founder in Lisa Marie Todd, but no delivery infrastructure, audience, revenue model, or content team. My job was to build all of it.
Over 15 months, I turned that concept into a functioning multi-platform media brand with 25,000+ subscribers, over 2.5 million views, a small corporate sponsor roster, and four distinct revenue streams operating simultaneously. The challenge here was less about creative, more about operations: build consistent, high quality content while simultaneously developing the commercial frameworks to make the whole operation sustainable.
MY ROLE
- Produced and directed 76 multi-camera live stream episodes across Facebook Live and YouTube
- Produced and directed 160+ recipe and lifestyle videos — from scripting through final edit
- Built and led a creative production team of 3–5 specialists: videographers, editors, and social media manager
- Developed cross-platform content strategy with platform specific messaging and SEO optimization
- Created sponsor ready media kits and pitched branded content partnerships to corporate partners
- Implemented analytics infrastructure using Google Analytics and platform native data to drive content optimization
- Designed and launched e-commerce (Shopify) operations as an additional revenue channel
“The goal was to build something brands would want to be part of and audiences would actually miss.”
Building a Revenue Model
From day one, the strategy was to build An Appetizing Life as a brand that could support multiple revenue streams in parallel. Each stream required its own content approach, partnership development, and audience positioning.
01
YouTube Monetization
Advertising revenue via YouTube Partner Program. Tier 2 Ad Revenue built on 25K+ subscribers and 2.5M views through consistent publishing cadence.
02
Branded Content Sponsorships
Integrated video partnerships with Wolf Gourmet, Botticelli Foods, and others. Embedded products within content while keeping editorial integrity intact.
03
Affiliate Partnerships
Performance-based partnerships across product categories featured in recipes and lifestyle content.
04
E-commerce Operations
DTC product channel launched and managed as a complement to the media brand.
The sponsorship work required building something that didn’t exist yet: a media kit that could communicate an emerging brand’s value to corporate partners before the numbers were large enough to speak for themselves. This meant leading with storytelling, (audience quality, engagement rates, content format, and brand fit) rather than raw reach. It worked.

CONCLUSION
An Appetizing Life is fundamentally a build story. No audience, no team, no infrastructure, and no revenue, to a functioning multi-platform media brand with corporate partners, a loyal subscriber base, and a content library of over 236 long form pieces. The skills applied to this work were not just creative. Instead, the core focus had to be on ability to hold commercial and editorial interests in the same hand and build both simultaneously without compromising either.
